昨天的句子，是比尔盖茨的一个采访，很多句子你要按对话的方式来理解就比较容易了。尤其一些副词的位置可能就比较随意了。

还有一个句子的翻译可以优化为：

1. preparedness 有准备

词汇突破：

同一个词(专有名词除外)在邻近的上下文中反复出现会显得语言贫乏，文风不佳。所以我在不改变意思的前提下，微调如下：

参考译文：近几年每个人的收入都受到影响，但年轻人的薪酬缩水最严重。

第三句：

主干识别：Younger generations know (that)…

切分成分：they are paying the price of...on housing他们正在住房方面付出代价

decades of failure数十年的失败

参考译文：年轻一代知道，自己正在为数十年来在住房(政策)的失败，付出代价。

思考题：

The recessions in the past underwent the high jobless rates among youngsters.

从第三句里high youth unemployment that characterised previous recessions，我们可以知道以前的衰退都以高青年人失业为标志，所以题目里的这句话是正确的。
